About Us

Cork & Board DIY Art Studio
Cork & Board is located at 13613 NW Cornell Rd. in the Sunset Mall in Portland, Oregon across from Beaverton's Sunset High School and is Oregon's first wine and sign diy studio that specializes in, you guessed it...fun! Did you think it was going to say rustic wood sign making? Although it's true that customers leave with a sign worthy of their walls at home, it's the fun night or day out with their friends that is really memorable.

First Class held:
April 30, 2017
Number of students through Dec 2018:
2,097

Owners:

Scott and Kelley Kefgen

Kelley is the main class instructor for Cork & Board and is a native Oregonian.  She has lived her whole life in Hillsboro, other than the six years she lived in Arizona where she met her husband Scott.  After having their daughter, Korey, in 2004, they decided to return back to Hillsboro to be near family. Their son, James was born in 2007 in the same hospital as Kelley.  Kelley has taken art classes her whole life and has had a long career in customer service.  These experiences have made the transition to this new venture in art entertainment a natural fit.

Scott, a Michigan State grad, is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and has been a small business owner and a substitute teacher in Hillsboro and Tigard/Tualatin for the past 13 years. In the classroom he is referred to as, Mr. K or the Magic Sub. So, if your children come home from school with a new card trick, it is a good bet that their teacher did not leave enough work to keep them busy. Scott handles the business side of Cork & Board, however he can ocassionally be seen assisting in some of the classes.
